One of the new projects we've planned for 2009, is to research and
create the audio for a walking tour of downtown Marengo's many
historical buildings.
It will be made available on this website as an mp3, free to anyone who wants to download it. We plan to eventually marry it up with a slideshow of the area, so those who cannot actually come to Marengo, can still enjoy a virtual tour from the comfort of their home.
Once we've compiled enough information to make an interesting and informative tour, we'll begin the recordings. We hope to hear many different voices on the finished product.
If you enjoy doing research, poking around in libraries, interviewing people and searching through (or for) photo collections, please join us.
We will be doing much of the tracking of this project online, using wikis, so we can keep meetings to a minimum (we're all pretty busy!) You'll be able to do the bulk of your assignments on your own time.
