Known as “Home of Settlers Day”, the City of Marengo was founded in 1835 and established near the Kishwaukee River, in Northern Illinois. Marengo's downtown has been the center of the community--both physically and emotionally. As of today, Marengo Main Street is an accredited National Main Street program and proud to be a part of Marengo’s community.
With a focus to promote downtown Marengo, stimulate community pride, preserve historic buildings, and keep businesses in business, Marengo Main Street offers local places to shop. Marengo Main Street is proud to be a part of this rich heritage, and we're doing our best to bring even more heart to the heart of Marengo.
