Marengo Main Street is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to preserving and promoting our downtown, for the benefit of the community.
Known as “Home of Settlers Day”, the City of Marengo was founded in 1835 and established near the Kishwaukee River, in Northern Illinois. Marengo's downtown has been the center of the community -- both physically and emotionally. Marengo Main Street is an accredited National Main Street program, with a focus to promote downtown Marengo, encourage community pride, preserve historic building and stimulate economic development. Marengo Main Street is proud to be a part of a community that so many of us call home.
